Types of food for your goldfish

    February 8th, 2010 by admin

Just like people, goldfish need nutritious food to grow and thrive. Luckily, the companies who make goldfish food have done careful research to formulate food that has all the nutrition your goldfish needs. Unlike little children, goldfish are not picky eaters, so picking the type of food is one of the easiest parts of goldfish care. Fish and pet stores will carry a few types of food designed for goldfish. Most of the goldfish food will be in flake form, which is very easy to use and stays fresh almost indefinitely. The flakes also float on top of the water for a long time, so it is unlikely that the food will sink and get trapped in your gravel, which can pollute your tank’s water. Pellets are the next best alternative, especially “vacation pellets,” which slowly dissolve over several days. These vacation pellets are perfect when you go away for several days and can’t find a friend to feed your fish.
